Mežica
Seat of the municipality, the town of Mežica, is Alpine and Mining tourist center of Mežiška Valley. Mining under Peca mountain goes all the way back to Roman times and today its underground is a tourist mine and a museum. There are many forest roads and hiking trails which lead to all of the surrounding mountains. Trails and roads will also lead you to a mountain lodge at Mala Peca, where you will find the cave of sleeping King Matjaž. Over Mežica are interesting st. Lenart church with a miraculous chain, Podkraj with typical granaries and Lom with beautiful views of the neighboring Podjuna.
